Are there any yoga poses to get back thicker hair? Please reply.

If yoga philosophy is to be believed then western medicine holds little hope for arresting hair fall.. Although there are allopathic medications available to control hair loss, all these come with a price of unpleasant side effects. It is a universally accepted fact that both men and women around the world suffer from hair loss at some point or the other in their lives. It is a normal pattern for the scalp to cast off hair every day and a healthy individual loses around 100-125 hairs in a day. However some people experience more hair fall than others. Some of them could have acute hair loss either due to hereditary factors, illness or side effects of long term medications. Yoga poses will be able to help you conquer stress, anxiousness, poor digestive problems, sluggish circulation of blood in the head, amongst other disorders, which are known to be harbingers of hair loss. One useful yogasana for the purpose of controlling loss of hair is the Headstand yoga pose. This particular pose is useful in its activation of blood circulation in the head and is also ideal for relieving and easing stress and tension.

Some important yogasanas to help get rid of stress and enhance the circulation of blood to benefit the scalp include the downward facing dog position, the forward and standing bends, the camel asana, the shoulder stand pose, the pawanmuktasana or the knee to chest posture, and vajrasana. In addition to daily yoga schedule and exercise, one must also get a good hair massage done every day. By using only the fingertips gently make slow circular motions all around the scalp in order to energize blood circulation. Be careful not to use your nails as the likelihood of scratching and infecting the scalp may arise. This massage can be done any time during the day for a period of 5 to 7 minutes. You will notice gradual reduction in the loss of hair after a couple of weeks. By using this form of self massage to the scalp you will be able to enhance the flow of blood to the hair follicles and help in the development of hair.

Certain ayurvedic massages are also known to be beneficial for reducing hair fall. In ayurvedic massages, the uses of specific oils that have medicinal properties are used for specific purposes. A deep hot oil massage by a massage therapist is also very useful in relieving mental stress and brining about a feeling of well being on the whole.
