The health of your skin and hair depends directly on your physical health. If your body is not healthy you will not be able to have great skin and hair no matter what you do or how many different products you try on it. Similarly if your body is fit but you stress and worry too much it will affect your skin and hair and make it look dull and lifeless. So try and create a balance in all that you do and it will help you a lot. Along with yoga you need to pay attention to what you eat and drink as well. The diet mentioned below will be beneficial for you along with yoga asanas or poses:
Start your day by drinking a glass of warm water. Add the juice of one whole lemon to it along with a tablespoon of honey. Stir well and drink this first thing in the morning. It helps to cleanse your intestines and eliminate harmful toxins from your body by ensuring smooth bowel movements. This helps to prepare your body to absorb nutrients better from the food that you eat. For your breakfast tray and have fresh fruits like apples, bananas, papayas, pomegranate, mango, strawberries, etc., whole grain cereals with milk, soy milk or fresh fruit juice. Make lunch the largest of all your meals and include fresh salads, sprouts, whole wheat or multigrain bread, grilled or steamed vegetables, pulses, curds, buttermilk, brown rice, etc. You need to ensure that your meals are simple and free from excessive oil and spice. For mid evening snacks consume green tea and some nuts or fruits. Avoid munching on biscuits and other refined and processed junk foods. It will increase the free radicals in your body that will harm your skin and hair. Keep your dinner light and only include steamed or grilled vegetables with whole wheat brown or multi grain bread.
Besides this you can practice yoga asanas or poses like Sirshasana or the head stand. This being an inverted pose helps greatly as it makes the blood rush to your head and face. This increases the supply of fresh blood and oxygen to your scalp and skin that improves the health of your skin and hair. Along with this you can also try the other inverted asanas as they will increase the benefits. You may also try the Laghu Shankha Prakshalana or the digestive system cleansing technique helps to clean the digestive system and the intestines, which boosts hair growth and gives a healthy glow to your skin and hair as well.
Please remember if you are new to yoga you should not attempt the inverted asanas or poses without the training and supervision of a qualified yoga instructor.
