How To Get Rid of Dry Frizzy Hair
Dry and frizzy hair is actually a natural occurrence because of the biological structure of the hair. Naturally, curly hair tends to be dry because longer straighter hair is able to allow the body’s natural oils to go down the shaft and lock in moisture. Depending on the length of your hair, and where the curling is occurring, you might have to start oiling your hair and using conditioners.
Shampoo & Conditioner Solutions
The body secretes its own oils called sebum. Chemically, sebum consists of fatty acids and triglycerides – and therefore the oily consistency. This sebum is secreted by glands in the skin called sebaceous glands that are present across the skin. Sometimes this sebum production goes into overdrive and can cause an extremely oily scalp and dandruff. When the oil production is not at its optimum level, the hair appears dry and lacks luster. In situations where the amount of the oil production is reduced, one can do two of the following things: wash and shampoo the scalp and dry it out to induce sebum production, or supplement the existing oil with a natural substitute. Try out the first measure by using a shampoo thoroughly on your scalp. This will dry out your scalp and this dryness will cause sebum production to increase. If this is not successful, then the next time you wash your hair, you must first oil your hair and scalp. This is a technique that is usually used to prevent the drying effects of harsh shampoos but is useful as a scalp oiling technique. Add some extra virgin olive oil into your palm and massage it into your scalp and to your hair. After an hour, wash your hair and ensure that the excess oil is washed off. Finish this exercise by using a conditioner with essential oils and fatty acids that will simulate the effect of sebum.
Olive Oil Remedies
Olive oil is a natural moisturizing medium and is useful for moisturizing the skin. Normally, the removal of sebum from the skin after a wash causes more of it to be secreted and an oily skin can be avoided by using a few drops of the oil to your face. Since it has almost no skin allergens or irritants, it is the most natural oil that you can use. You should also consider increasing the amount of oil that you consume in your diet. For this purpose as well, olive oil is a magical remedy as it poses no undesired effect and even helps to displace cholesterol in your body.
