Benefits of Reiki
What Are The Benefits Of Reiki?
Reiki is a non-invasive healing method that promotes balance and wellbeing of an individual on mental, spiritual and physical levels. Reiki allows a practitioner to maneuver the energy flow in the body of the recipient with his/her hands.
The therapy balances the energy flow within the body, initiates cleansing, and removes blockages to effect a total and healthy healing.

Health Benefits
Reiki works on the significance of ‘life force energy’. When the flow of life force energy is blocked or depleted, the human body is weakened, which manifests in physical and mental problems. The disruption or imbalance of the energy flow can be a result of many external or internal factors such as:
- Nutritional imbalance
- Stress
- Negativity
- Poor lifestyle
- Anxiety
- Toxicity
- Emotional imbalance/setback
- Self loathing
- Anger/fear/doubt
The health benefits of reiki are functional and all round. The benefits provided by the therapy work on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.

Reiki Limitations and Side Effects
Reiki therapy or massage has no established side effects; however, it is not a regulated practice in the United States. Nonetheless, the notable limitations and disadvantages of the therapy are as follows.
- The cleansing of tissues and organs in the body may cause temporary effects such as indigestion, diarrhea, headaches, or an upset stomach.
- The other likely side-effect of reiki is the increased reliance on the therapy or the reiki practitioner.
- Reiki results may differ from one person to another. The therapy may have no benefits in some cases.
- Reiki practitioners are not officially certified or recognized. The degree of efficiency of a reiki practitioner may vary. The practitioner has to undergo three levels of training before achieving the master level status.
- Reiki therapy has limited insurance protection. The insurance company may not recognize the alternative and complementary medicine as an insurable property.
- Reiki has very little scientific evidence to back its healing therapy claim, although major medical facilities in the United States have reiki listed in their alternative and complimentary care units.
