Yoga is a holistic art that puts emphasis on harmonizing the mind, body, and soul in order to achieve perfect and complete fitness. The practice of yoga involves the combination of a series of postures, breathing techniques and meditation to strengthen the body and mind. Yoga postures are gentle but very effective. They are designed to heal and strengthen the body and to correct the various ailments and imbalances that occur in the body.

Sun Salutations –The sun salutation is a sequence of twelve basic yoga postures performed in a seamless flow. Every movement of the Sun Salutation has to be performed with a breath; inhale as you stretch out and exhale as you fold. Sun Salutations are very effective and extremely beneficial for the body. They can be used as a warm up exercise or can be performed in a cycle and serve as a routine. Even one cycle performed daily will show positive results.
Cobra Pose – The Cobra Pose is an excellent posture for boosting blood circulation. It also strengthens the spine and opens up the chest and heart. It is easy to perform: lie on the floor with your face down. Place your hands close to the ribcage, with the palms planted on the ground. Keeping your feet together, inhale and lift your head and chest off the floor. Push the head back and the chest out. Hold the posture before returning to original position.
Bridge Pose – The Bridge Pose is effective in increasing flexibility and strength. It is particularly effective in strengthening the lower back and abdominal muscles. It requires you to lie on the floor; hands on the side and knees bent. Slowly, lift your pelvis off the floor so that it is parallel with the ground. Hold the pose for as long as you can before returning to the original position.
Triangle Pose – This is a posture helps build strength and remove tension in the lower back region and improves balance and coordination. It also stimulates the abdominal region, improves digestion and corrects constipation and stress. Stand with your feet spread wide. Bend the torso over to the right while keeping the knees straight. Also keep the arms stretched; one stretched upwards, the other stretched lower. Hold this position for as long as you can and come up slowly. Repeat this posture on the other side.
