Yoga Benefits For Eyes
I AM 23 YEARS OLD. AND WEAR SPECS (NO. 2.5) CAN I REMOVE MY SPECS WITH THE HELP OF YOGA. PLEASE SUGGEST SOME MEDICINES ALSO
Yes you can certainly improve the condition of your eyes by practicing yoga daily in the correct way. I will not suggest medicines to remove your number but instead I would ask you to focus on eating fresh and healthy foods that are known to be good for your eyes. Nature has given us everything we require to live in a healthy way naturally without depending on chemicals so just look around and make use of it rather than adding more chemicals to your body. Drink plenty of water throughout the day and also try and have fresh fruit and vegetable juices. Just a word of caution here, for those who suffer from high eye pressure do not drink too many fluids at on go, instead sip it slowly over a period of time as it might increase the pressure in your eyes. Eat fresh vegetables and fruits like spinach, carrots, kale, sprouts, papaya, kiwi, grapes, mangoes, oranges, etc. Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants known as zeaxanthin and lutein that are very good for your eyes. They keep your eyes healthy and prevent the damage that occurs by straining the eyes too much or due to age. Also have flaxseed oil daily as it helps to build the damaged tissues. Flaxseed oil is the richest plant source of natural Omega3 fatty acids that are great for your bone and tissue health. And please do make sure that you eat at the same time daily if possible.
If you work in an environment that causes a lot of strain on your eyes then you need to take short breaks in between. Remove your specs and wash your hands clean. Then rub your palms together and cup your eyes gently. Do not press your eyes, your palms must cup your eyes and not touch them. Keep your eyes slightly open and stare into the darkness created by your palms. You will feel the warmth of your palms relaxing your eyes. Continue to do this until you feel the warmth no more. Then fill your mouth with water and splash cool water on your eyes while keeping them open. This will impart a fresh feeling and will remove the strain as well. You should also practice Tratak Dhyana that involves meditating on the candle flame. It will greatly help to improve your eyesight. Besides this also practice Anulom Vilom or alternate nostril breathing and Kapalbhati or the breath of fire. Both these exercises clear the blockages from your system and also the sinuses so your prana or life force easily reaches your eyes to rejuvenate them.
