A yoga session with a friend, a family member, or a significant other promotes many health benefits and provides a wonderful opportunity to nurture and sustain relationships.
The word "yoga" is a Hindu word that means union. It is a spiritual discipline that primarily involves breath control, meditation, and physical postures.
This union ordinarily refers to the body and spirit of one person, but the union may also be broadened to refer to couples.
A yoga session with a friend, a family member, or a significant other promotes many health benefits and provides a wonderful opportunity to nurture and sustain relationships.
If your yoga sessions are taking away precious time from your loved ones and causing relationship problems, this is clearly not the intention of yoga. Every effort should be made to correct this problem, if there is one, including involving them in your ritual of finding inner peace through yoga.
Yoga for couples heightens your individual yoga practice, while also taking your relationship with someone else to a new level of shared fun and good health.
Simple breathing exercises and deliberate yoga movements create balance and convey a strong sense of peaceful connection between two persons, on top of the following health benefits for you and your partner:
- Healthier bones and joints
- Better skin tone and muscle strength
- Improved energy and vitality
- Better metabolism and weight control
- Cardiovascular health
Below are a few poses and activities that you can both perform in a twin-sharing yoga mat for bonding and good health:
