Most of us are rarely aware of what breath is. But the moment something obstructs our breathing, we fight desperately for our existence and know its importance.
Feel your breath from-inside do not change the pattern of your breathing. You should study your breathing in depth during meditation and focus on how the whole body responds to the process.
Pay attention to the air filling your lungs and the rise and fall of your diaphragm. In meditation you can become aware that this is happening. Work this insight into your breathing till it becomes a regular part of your meditation and at a point you will be able to stop counting your breaths.
But remember whenever need arises you can rely on the counting.
With practice your breath automatically becomes softer and gentler and it signifies that your body is responding well to your meditation. Once the body has become more efficient, you require less oxygen. Take 3 or 4 deep slow breaths before you start preparing for meditation.
