Why Do My Muscles Ache And Feel Hard And Tense After A Day Of Exercising
You may be overworking your muscle in order to get quick results. You should see how far you can go without getting tired and go a little further in a gradual manner. You should normally not feel any strain or pain as in yoga you are not lifting, pushing, pulling or doing push ups.
Yoga requires you to be relaxed. While practicing yoga exercise, you should concentrate on what you are doing. If you are practice under strain, you are not able to concentrate on the movements properly.
Normally you may find sore muscles at the initial stage of practice. It becomes easier as your muscles and joints loosen up. Aches and pains disappear as your body adjusts to the routine.
Practice of yoga should commence with meditative postures like Lotus pose (Padmasana) or The Comfortable Pose (Sukhasana) for calming your mind. Follow it up with Sun Salutation before starting your yoga exercise regime which will help to release the stiff muscles and joints.
Do a limited number of yoga poses according to your age, health and requirement. If you try to go over your limit, it will result in pulled muscles, strained joints or body ache.
At the time of practice you should take into account the causes of body aches. You may try the difficult yoga poses when you are feeling good and the days you are feeling stiff, it is better to perform simple yoga poses which will loosen your stiff joints and recharge your body.
It is important that you do not attempt any yoga posture which is beyond your level and may strain your joint or muscle. You should know your limitations. Do not ever use force while stretching a limb. Do not pull against the tension of a stiff muscle. You should pull only when it is relaxed. While practicing any of the yoga poses, if you feel any strain, discontinue immediately.
If yoga postures are practiced correctly, you will never feel pain anywhere in the body while doing them or after you have finished. Body aches and sore muscles indicate that either you have attempted too much or you have not practiced correctly.
Always remember that your yoga practice is not complete without Savasana (the Corpse pose) which you should perform after practicing all the yoga postures. You can perform this pose after difficult yoga poses as it refreshes you completely. The Corpse pose is excellent for complete physical and mental relaxation. It removes stress, strain, aches and pain and physical fatigue.
People are embracing yoga to obtain perfect health and maintain physiological harmony of the body. To achieve that especially without any ill effects, one must practice yoga regularly under proper guidance of a yoga teacher.
