REMEDY TO LIGHTEN PIMPLE SCARS: HOW TO LIGHTEN SCARS LEFT BY SEVERE PIMPLES & HOLES ON THE FACE
This condition of scarring is quite common for people who suffer severe cases of acne during puberty. The treatment of scars varies greatly depending on how fast you want to get rid of them. The treatments vary from the use of lasers to the physical rubbing off of the skin on the face to just letting the scars be and allowing time to heal the scarring.
Scarring occurs on the face after an acne attack and can resemble enlarged mountainous structures, craters, and gorges. The treatment of scars depends a lot on what kind of scarring has occurred. The easiest types of scarring that can be dealt with are the mountainous scars or raised scars. Typically, the treatment for facial scars includes needling, surgery, dermabrasion and laser treatments. Needling is a process where the scar is poked with a needle and miniature wounds are created on the scar. This promotes collagen production in the area and can return the skin back to normal texture after a few sessions. There are do it yourself kits for this as well but getting medical supervision is better in this technique. Dermabrasion is a procedure done under a general anesthetic where an entire layer of skin is scraped off abrasively. This promotes collagen production and smoothens out raised scars. Laser surgery uses the concept of burning down the skin that is raised from scarring and also has the effect of needling, which should stimulate the production of collagen. For sunken scars where the level of the skin has to be raised, there are steroid treatments that are available.
Usually, in these types of treatments, the discoloration of the skin or hyperpigmentation of the area is also taken care of. If treatments like this are not amenable to you then you can always try to wait it out. Scarring left by pimples can sometimes disappear completely over the course of a year, this depends on their severity. Some deep scarring like those that leave behind gorges can never really disappear and do require cosmetic surgery for correction. The skin is an organ that rejuvenates very fast as you might have noticed in the case of wounds; at the most a wound would take a week or more to heal if not severe. In a similar way, the skin continuously sheds off old layers and it is through this process that most scars disappear. There is some limited evidence that the additional intake of vitamin E helps reduce scar tissue formation and also stimulates repair.
