Home remedies for sore throat, ear ache and recurrent chills: i have gone to the doctor twice regarding my sore throat and severe ear aches. I also have recurring chills. They gave me an antibiotic that apparently got rid of the redness and infection in

What is possibly happening here is that you have an upper respiratory tract infection that has gone on to affect your ear because these two regions are connected. This can happen if your body is not in an optimal condition to heal itself. To start getting back to normal, you need to start treating yourself from a holistic perspective.

Throat inflammation is usually caused by allergies or infections and if infected, is treated with antibiotics. Antibiotics prescription can be tricky and problematic if your doctor has not prescribed one that is strong enough to kill the pathogen completely. To accommodate for this possibility, it is advisable to get a second opinion. You should also usually wait for a week, which is generally the time it takes for a course of antibiotics to get over. It is also evident that your body is not at its peak to fight infections because of the recurring chills; this could also be because of a tonsillectomy that you might have had previously. If this is the case then without tonsils, your ability to fight infections are greatly diminished in the respiratory tract. To start to bolster the body, you have to start increasing your body’s energy reserves. When fighting an infection, your body will require all the strength it can; therefore, you will have to start eating more. The type of food that you should focus on should be always prepared hot and eaten hot. To add to this, spicy food is also a requirement. Spicy food doesn’t just mean chili based. It should include items like ginger, chili, turmeric, cloves and most spices that you will find in Indian food. Most of these spices have antibiotic, anti – inflammatory and decongesting properties. For your ear aches, it is advisable to keep your ears away from water lest the cold in the air disturb and irritate it. Also try warming some mustard oil and pouring it into your ear and letting it sit for a few minutes before draining.

The final piece of this puzzle called treatment lies in the ambient temperature around you and your sleep patterns. These two factors can have a major effect on your immune system. Increase the time you sleep to a time that you get up naturally and sleep in a warm environment using blankets or increasing the ambient temperature in your home. Take time off work and rest as a stressed body cannot recuperate as fast. You must also consciously feel that you are dedicated to healing yourself and this gives the body more focus to the task at hand. Do not worry as the combination of treatments will set you back to normal in no time. Consider this as the way your body tells you that it needs time out.
