Natural Ways To Fade Stretch Marks
Stretch marks basically indicate that your skin has expanded beyond its capacity and has therefore been torn. Your skin expands in two situations – when you are pregnant and when you put on a large amount of weight. Once torn, it is not possible for the skin in that area to go back to its former condition. Unfortunately, apart from cosmetic surgery, there is no other way you can completely and absolutely remove the stretch marks that have already formed on your body. This is a scientifically proven fact and it is necessary that you know this before you start off with any kind of treatment for the same. What you can do is work at lightening these marks to such an extent that they are hardly visible. You can start off by making sure that you moisturize your body every single day, twice a day if possible. Preferably use a moisturizer that has cocoa butter as its base. Cocoa butter is a well-know antioxidant and works well even on sensitive skin. You can also apply cocoa butter cream directly on the stretch marks for better results. Another remedy that contains healing properties is aloe vera gel. This will not only help in lightening the stretch marks but will also help in healing the damaged skin to a certain extent. Apart from this, you should massage vitamin E oil on your stretch marks everyday. Gently massage this oil into your skin where there are stretch marks, preferably in an upward movement. Vitamin E contains healing properties that will work at repairing your skin over a period of time.
Apart from vitamin E oil, there are other oils that will help in lightening the stretch marks. Lavender, jojoba, avocado, chamomile, olive oil, and almond are some of the other oils that you can apply regularly. You can also mix some of these oils for better results. For example, mixing jojoba, lavender, and chamomile oil in equal quantities will prove to be highly effective. If your stretch marks are severe and look like welts, then grind a fistful of coffee beans into a lightly coarse powder and mix it well with the cocoa butter based lotion to form a gentle exfoliating scrub. Massage this scrub gently over the stretch marks for around 2 to 3 minutes everyday. Instead of washing it off with soap, just wipe it off with a clean cloth soaked in warm water. And of course, the best way to prevent stretch marks is to keep a constant watch on your weight.
