The ancient tradition of yoga teaches us that there is no distinction between the body, mind, and spirit. If there is anything bothering us mentally or spiritually, this will show up in some form or the other in our bodies. As we practice yoga consistently and perform the poses and deep breathing exercises, the mind becomes clearer and emotional tension is released. It is completely natural for strong feelings and emotions to arise when practicing certain postures. These emotions could be positive or negative there could be different reactions daily. Some people experience these emotions as soon as they begin practicing yoga and others, like you, may not have experienced anything as yet. Both are normal should cause no worry.
As a rule, it is believed that forward bends are very confrontational. Forward bend poses force us to look into ourselves and some people may not like what they are faced with when they do so. If a person is egocentric or stubborn or very fearful and unable to surrender, forward bends insist that they look within and face their shortcomings. It is natural during these poses to feel afraid or angry. If this happens, one should just acknowledge the feeling and let it pass.
Whether you experience only positive emotions during certain poses or nothing at all, it does not mean that you are not dealing with your self or making any progress in your yoga practice. It simply means that every person has different ways of dealing with his or her problems. Yoga is simply another channel to help one along the way.
