How is viniyoga different from other yoga styles?

Viniyoga is different from other forms of yoga in the following ways;

  • Repetition in and out of postures and holding each posture
  • Emphasis on function over form
  • Focus on breathing and the adaptation of breathing patterns to yield different effects
  • Sequence creation with varying length and intensity to suit the requirements of each practice

Viniyoga Teacher Training

Viniyoga teacher trainings are open to all and do not have any pre-requirements or applications. The trainings are designed in a manner such that they suit all levels. Through these trainings, trainees learn how to teach various types of students. Viniyoga teachers are trained to be flexible with whom they teach and the manner in which they go about their teaching. This style of yoga is best suited for those who want to go deeper into yoga practice.

Viniyoga Therapy

Those who are experiencing diminished energy in the body or mind may benefit from customized viniyoga practice. This type of yoga practice is even suitable for those who have been injured or those recovering from surgery. A viniyoga teacher will help to plan a yoga program that meets individual requirements. Viniyoga is known to be especially helpful for those who suffer from back pain. It helps to loosen the back muscles and brings balance to the spine. A viniyoga sequence is designed as a therapeutic practice for specific health problems.
