What Is The Best Yoga For Firm Legs
Yoga asanas or poses are more effective than other forms of exercises as they benefit your mind and soul along with your body. It is very important for us to have strong and flexible legs for proper balance and movement. Supple and strong legs act as shock absorbers that take the excess strain off our spine. People who lead a sedentary lifestyle and have to work sitting in an office for long hours experience several problems in their legs and lower back along with poor blood circulation. There are several yoga asanas or poses that help to shape and tone your legs making them firm and strong.
Some of them are:
- Natrajasana Or The King Dancer Pose – this pose helps to strengthen the joints of your ankles and calf, tones your thighs and abductors and improves your posture. This should not be practiced if you have weak back, ankles or suffer from stiff knees.
- Vatayasana Or Arched Moon Pose - this pose helps to strengthen the knee joints and the back and also stretches the quadriceps. Avoid this if you suffer from varicose veins, have weak knees or have a problem in maintaining your balance.
- Sahaj Vyagrasana Or Half Crane Pose - this pose helps to strengthen the thighs, hips back and arms. It also tones your hips and alleviates cervical spondylitis. Do not practice this pose if you have a serous back problem or high blood pressure.
- Tadasana Or The Mountain Pose - This pose helps to improve your posture, relieves back pain and also strengthens and tones your thighs.
- Vrksasana Or The Tree Pose – this asana or pose greatly improves your balance and strengthens your leg muscles.
- Virabhadrasana Or The Warrior Pose - this pose strengthens and tones your legs, arms, and abdomen and improves your balance as well. It also helps to open your chest and shoulder muscles making them flexible and toning them at the same time.
- Garudhasana Or The Eagle Pose – this pose too helps to tone and strengthen your legs, improve your balance and stretch your shoulder muscles.
- Chaturanga Dandasana Or The Four Limbed Staff Pose - this pose is like a push up exercise and it helps to strengthen your toes, feet, abdomen, wrists and arms.
- Adho Mukha Shavasana Or The Downward Facing Dog - this pose strengthens and stretches your legs as well as your whole body. It also helps to relieve the back pain.
