Yoga help for infertility
Hi,I am 31 years male and planning to start a family. I am diagnosed with male infertility(oligospermia),with low sperm count (10) and low motility. Can you please suggest me yoga poses to improve sperm count and motility?
Having a baby is one of the biggest occasions in a woman’s life and her fertility rate is the primary factor that will decide whether she is able to have one or not. While western medicine has advanced substantially over the last few years, making some of the most difficult scenarios possible, a lot of them are down to unnatural methods such as surgery or drugging the body with a substantial amount of medication that has been crammed with chemicals that can harm the body in the long run. The use of yoga for fertility treatment however offers some natural options. This is where yoga for fertility is becoming an increasingly popular option as more women look for a more natural answer to their problem. Yoga for fertility is based around preparing the body as well as mind for the entire process of conceiving a child. Studies have shown that stress is one of the biggest factors influencing a womans ability to have children and the discipline of yoga incorporates a number of techniques that will help relieve a substantial amount of stress from the womans body – thereby increasing the chance of having a baby. There are a number of yoga pregnancy routines that will help stimulate the hormones such as supported headstands and the bridge pose. Apart from the fact that it is one of the more highly regarded yoga positions for fertility, the supported headstand also works to strengthen the entire body as well as reduce the symptoms of asthma and insomnia in addition to being a relaxer for the mind and mild depression. It is important to initially perform this exercise under supervision as any unforeseen complications can lead to you damaging your neck or even your spinal cord considerably.
Some of the other practices of yoga to increase fertility include the reclining bound angle pose as well as the reclining hero pose and the lotus pose. When using yoga to achieve better chances of reproduction, it is important to remember that you remember that yoga is a discipline that needs to be practiced on a regular basis in order to be effective. Much like any other type of natural treatment option – the results will take time to show, but will definitely be worth the wait and the fact that you have been able to achieve it through natural methods only serves to show your commitment and willingness to trust your body rather than rely on medication.

Sorry, but I can’t guarantee an absolute and total Yogic cure for oligospermia by itself. You will have to resort to some sort of medication – preferably Ayurvedic.
But doing a set of Yoga practices – particularly Pranayamas such as Kapalabhatti, Anuloma Viloma and Brahmari – will help accelerate the healing process. As usual, please stick to a Yogic diet as far as possible.Wish you all the best!
