Dark Spots/Patches Home Remedies

Dark spots and patches on the skin are extremely common in men and women of all ages as well as ethnicity. When the darkening of skin is not even and only in patches, it can be a cosmetic nightmare. There are a lot of different kinds of dark spots. Some of these may be caused by over activity of melanocytes (the melanin producing glands) and others may be caused from the picking of pimples and acne.

For each of these different causes, the remedies and treatments are also different. Some people have a genetic condition, which could cause them to develop spots all over the face. If the dark spots are due to a faulty diet or unhealthy lifestyle, these can be dealt with by correcting the lifestyle habits and diet.

To treat the dark spots on your face, you can apply some potato juice on your face. Simply slice up a potato and place the slices on the affected areas of the skin. You may also grate the potatoes and squeeze the juice from the slivers. Use this juice from the potatoes on the skin. Use a brush to apply the juice on your skin so that it is applied evenly. Leave the juice on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Repeat this every day before going to bed, and you will see a marked difference.

Exfoliate your skin well every day. This will help you get rid of dead skin and will improve blood circulation. You can also apply some coconut oil on your skin after the exfoliation so that the skin remains moisturized. You can also consume citrus fruits and vitamin E to improve skin texture and lighten dark spots. The application of lemon juice or diluted hydrogen peroxide on your skin can also help lighten the dark spots on your skin.

Is Lemon Juice Helpful In Getting Rid Of Dark Patches On Skin?

Lemon juice is considered a great ingredient for skin care. It can be used for a variety of homemade face masks and similar skin treatments. If you have a lot of brown spots and pigmentation on your skin, lemon juice can help brighten your skin. Lemon juice contains vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, that slowly peels off the upper layer of your skin so that the younger skin in the lower layers is exposed. This makes your skin appear less blemished and more beautiful.

Ascorbic acid also naturally lightens the skin tone. Most cosmetics that promise fair skin contain lemon extracts to make the cosmetics naturally effective on your skin and your blemishes. Lemon juice is extremely effective for improving skin tone and skin texture. The juice is also free, as compared to the often expensive skin treatment creams. You can squeeze the lemon juice at home and use it fresh. If you do not have access to fresh lemons, you can use lemon juice purchased from the store. However, it is important to note that fresh lemon juice is always better than the other as the latter could have added flavors and other ingredients.

To use lemon juice for skin care, simply put the lemon juice in a bowl and soak a cotton ball in it. Do not squeeze the cotton ball or all the lemon juice would fall off the cotton. Apply the juice on your affected skin using this cotton ball. To get best results, always apply the juice all over the skin. This will help you get an even skin tone. Repeat this once a day, every day till the brown spots and discolored patches on your skin begin to fade.

Lemon juice may take some time before the skin actually becomes light and the skin tone becomes even. You may have to be a little patient to get the results you want.
